Q Do I need to use the internet?
A Not at all. Our graphics studio in Edinburgh offers all conventional routes into artwork and graphic creation. We can supply a pdf proof via email just like everybody else. Contact us to arrange a visit.
Q Why use the internet?
A Most repro companies do use the internet but only as a means of transferring files. Our whole business workflow is geared towards utilising the internet and the speed of broadband (which is only going to get quicker) and because our end product is digital data (not plates) we are not restricted to locality.
Q We use our own design company, how can you help us?
A Why don’t you use our online rental service? Clients wishing to benefit from our online tools can have a personalised, secure intenet portal just like ours but totally independent from our operation. A minimal monthly fee gives you unlimited use. Call us to find out how we can integrate it into your business.
Q What is repro or reprographics?
A Reprographics is taking the designers artwork and converting it into a press ready file. Most packaging printing presses are very expensive to run so downtime must be kept to a minimum. When converted the file has the correct ink separations, ink angles, lines per inch, min dot, dot gain, grips and barcodes etc as well as adding on any necessary registration/ printers marks. Another term for this process is PrePress.
Q I don’t have a clue where to start with my designs or artwork?
A A quick sketch on a cigarette packet, a fax, a phone call and even a photograph…believe us we’ve had them all as original concepts and we’ve always managed to deliver. Our knowledge of print means we build the file specifically for the process.
Q You don’t make plates, doesn’t everybody need plates?
A We feel the plate market is saturated with quality trade houses offering cheaper and better plates which is great for the client but bad for repro companies. Modern computer to plate equipment is almost plug and play and because of this more and more printers are installing their own plate making facility and it’s here where we come in. Supplying an imaging file ready to be output on demand.
